Our CALM cleansing capsules have a unique capsule delivery system that is simple to use!

Using only dry hands, pick capsule from glass container. Tap capsule to settle cleansing powder in bottom portion of capsule. Then gently squeeze and pull apart vertically to remove top portion of capsule. Pour cleansing powder into palm. Wet opposite palm and rub hands together to create a light, gentle foam. Add a few drops of water, if desired. Massage onto face in circular motions. Rinse, pat dry and follow with your favorite toner, moisturizer or serum.

After use, be sure to drop your empty capsule in your sink or at the bottom of your shower. The tapioca starch capsules will completely dissolve in water!

Absolutely! We are thrilled to offer refill pouches of our CALM cleansing capsules at almost a 25% discount! Our refill pouches are made from a special paper that dissolves in water. Simply tear open the pouch, pour out the CALM cleansing capsules into the jar, and then place the paper in your sink or shower to watch the paper disappear!

Our unique capsule delivery method ensures the potency of our cleansing powder formulation. In addition, it limits product waste, as each capsule has exactly the right amount of cleansing powder for one wash!

Our consumer testing demonstrated that CALM cleansing capsules were effective in removing make-up, dirt and oil from the skin. 

For heavy make-up, we recommend using a 'double cleanse' method, which uses an oil (coconut, almond or olive oils work well!) or balm as the first cleansing step. The emulsification of the oil or balm loosens make-up from the skin. Following up with a CALM cleansing capsule will ensure complete removal of make-up from the skin. 

Our cleansing capsules have been clinically and dermatologist tested to be non-irritating.

Common dermal allergic reactions to skincare products are usually caused by sensitivity to fragrance/parfum, preservatives, colors/dyes, propolis/beeswax and essential oils. We thoughtfully formulated our products so that they also don’t contain any of these substances!

That being said, everyone is different. Please double check our ingredient list(s) to ensure you are not allergic to any of our natural ingredients and if you experience any sensitivity, please discontinue use immediately.

Our cleansing products are completely vegan, including the capsule, which is made of a tapioca starch. 

By only using clean, natural ingredients, our products are safe to use during pregnancy, but we always recommend checking with your physician first.

Sodium cocoyl isethionate: is a gentle surfactant derived from coconut oil. As a surfactant, it creates a wet feeling, it solubilizes oils and reduces surface tension, and can aid in foaming as well. The Cosmetic Ingredient Review Panel has found sodium cocoyl isethionate to be non-toxic, non-irritating in dermal applications. Additional information on the ingredient can be found on EWG’s website.

Rhamnolipids: are a class of glycolipid produced by bacterial organisms, frequently cited as the best characterized of the bacterial surfactants. The rhamnolipids used in our formulations are from the fermentation of vegetable oil. They are a gentle, effective surfactant and most notably are 100% biodegradable and have unique environmentally friendly properties.

Our bamboo lids are custom-made for booni doon. By omitting the conventional plastic liner, our bamboo lids may expand and contract due to the ambient temperature and humidity. We recommend storing your CALM jar in a dry, cool place. If that is not possible, rub a tiny amount of olive oil on the grooves of the lid to help with any wood contraction. Please ensure any oil does not come into contact with the CALM cleansing capsules.

Our rule of thumb is: dry hands, dry face. CLARITY works best when initially massaged onto a dry face with dry fingers. The friction melts the gel into an oil as well as helps emulsify the make-up, sunscreen, and grime from the skin. We love using this as an opportunity to incorporate a relaxing facial massage into our cleansing routine.

Yes! CLARITY Cleansing Gel is suitable for oily skin, as it's formulated to remove makeup and grime, without stripping the skin (and subsequently causing skin to overproduce oil).

The initial texture of CLARITY is similar to honey or petroleum jelly. As the cleansing gel is massaged onto the face, the friction will melt the gel into a more oil-like consistency. Upon adding water, CLARITY emulsifies into a milky cleanser.

Conventional cleansing balms on the market depend on petroleum-derived or environmentally harmful ingredients such as polyethylene and PEG compounds for their texture and ability to rinse cleanly from the skin. CLARITY instead utilizes sucrose emulsifiers derived from sugar to help rinse the cleansing gel from the skin.

An ingredient in our CLARITY Cleansing Gel is upcycled grapeseed oil from Napa Valley, which is made from cold-pressing the seeds of grapes used in the wine-making process. By upcycling the grapeseeds, we redirect what would otherwise be waste from the wine industry.

We worked closely with our packaging manufacturer to design an alternative to plastic packaging components. The result is a mono-material aluminum tube, including an aluminum cap. The aluminum packaging includes previously recycled aluminum content and is generally curbside recyclable within the United States.

However you like! Our favorite use for PLUSH is during our double cleansing routine, but our customers have loved using PLUSH: for extra exfoliation while removing a clay mask; for ease of applying toner or essence; and even for depuffing by soaking in serum and cooling in the refrigerator before placing over eyes.

Research on reusable cotton rounds show that they can withstand use up to 500 washes. Assuming you use a PLUSH round everyday, a set of seven will last you almost 10 years!

It's important to note, that after popping your PLUSH set into the laundry, the rounds will be clean, but may still have 'stains' on them because of the high levels of pigment found in make-up (especially mascara and lipstick). When using PLUSH with highly pigmented make-up, we recommend rinsing immediately with cold water (hot water will set the stain!) and sprinkling the round with baking soda (sodium bicarbonate). These steps will help prevent stains for forming on the round and extend the life of your PLUSH set!

100%. booni doon has been certified by PETA and we are a member of their Beauty Without Bunnies program. We conduct rigorous clinical testing, but never on animals. Our products also do not include any animal by-products.
