#ImperfectlySustainable with @kylafishy
We are so excited to interview @kylafishy! She a Canadian YouTube and Instagram content creator with a focus on new makeup, panning/using up makeup, and testing different looks out.
Please tell us more about yourself.
My name is Kyla Fish. I am from Ontario, born and raised! I started my YouTube channel and Instagram Summer of last year. I focus on new makeup, panning/using up makeup, and testing different looks out.
What are some of your beauty and skincare essentials?
Some of my must-have skincare essentials are the Kosas tinted face oil, their concealer, their duo in tropic equinox, Roen eyeshadows, and my Fenty Beauty glow gloss. I know I can put any of those on and will feel so much better.
What is your favorite quote?
My favorite quote is a little cheesy, but it's "just keep swimming" from Finding Nemo. It's oddly helped me through a lot of aspects of my life and reminded me to keep going when it gets hard. Plus I like it because my last name is Fish haha.
Tell us more about your "project pan" and accountability calendar.
I use a calendar tracker of my makeup purchases on my stories to keep myself accountable and keep my followers updated on my purchases. It inspires me to bring fewer items into my collection, as I won't buy as many things so I don't "ruin" a day if that makes sense. It's just a way to help me be more intentional when shopping and not bring in pointless items that will go to waste.
What challenges have you faced when trying to be more sustainable?
Some challenges I've faced when it comes to being more sustainable is reaching for perfection. I think there are many pressures in the community to be perfect, but we need more people trying, not perfection. I try and remind myself how far I've come in this journey and set goals for the future.
